resolution and graphics options?
« on: May 21, 2016, 08:49:33 AM »
What is the proper way to tweak resolution and shader settings with REstoration? On swgemu, you would use the launcher. On restoration, I am guessing the options.cfg, but im not sure what to put in there. I want to get shaders working properly.

You can still use the swgemu launcher for the settings in Restoration.

You can run SWG_setup.exe like you used to do on live, it might have been renamed to SWGEmu_setup.exe

One FYI, using Pixel Shader 1.4 gives the most accurate results for things like the shiny-ness of metal (protocol droids are a good example of this). Using the optimal setting will produce a less accurate image.

It used to be recommended to turn off the World Pre-Loading and File Caching options because they caused a lot of disk reads. But with SSD's I don't think that's an issue nowadays. I can't say I notice any difference having them on or off.

I've noticed that it takes a distinguishable longer time loading into different places with it disabled. I would recommend leaving it enabled. There's no reason not to these days.
